Eggs: All great ideas have to start someplace, and like the eggs of a frog... they're usually tightly guarded and all balled up into some weird gelatinous mess. Then something happens and the idea is hatched.
Tadpoles: This is the toughest part of both the amphibian and creative process. Hundreds of different ideas (tadpoles) are floating around in a single pond vying for limited resources and trying to dodge nasty predators. It's unfortunate, but the vast majority of projects, and tadpoles, don't get past this stage. It all comes down to the green--whether it's a lack of algae for the tadpoles or lack of money for the project. However, a lucky few get to move on to the most exciting phase of the process.
Metamorphosis: So you're a little tadpole and you've managed to eat enough algae and somehow didn't end up in the belly of some beast. Now it's time to grow and change...in other words, it’s time for production. Ideas shift and morph. Colors change and pieces and parts start to grow and absorb. This process can take quite some time and a whole lot of energy, but it's worth it. The tadpole’s gills become lungs and its tail is absorbed into its body allowing it to form arms and legs. And we all know that once a project has some serious legs, then it's time to leap out of the pond and see what you’re made of.
Adult: Yup...just like a frog, a product needs to get out into the world and start eating all the mosquitoes it can. And of course, if your "adult" is successful, then it will do as Nature, I mean, the market intends. It will continue to grow and at some point it'll be time to reproduce and start all over again. How cool is that? |
